The old saying goes, “if you choose a job you love, youwill never have to work a day in your life.” For me, this feeling is 100% true! Working withpatients to transform their worn, broken mouths to beautiful, pain free, long lasting smiles gives mesuch joy. To provide care that impacts a person each time they smile or eat, everyday, for the rest of their lives is a great privilege. Truly, I learned to choose a field that would bring mehappiness from my parents. As healthcare professionals themselves, they instilled in me the relevanceof finding joy by serving people in a way that makes their lives better. Growing up in New Jersey, I had so muchrespect for my family dentist and I loved going to his office; witheach visit my desire to do what he did, when I grew up increased.
In my practice, the team and I focus our time inservice of people with the most complicated or “hopeless” seemingconditions. This includes cancer survivors, those recovering from eatingdisorders or gastric bypass, and people who just never had the time to care forthemselves and are now ready. We literally, make them smile again; the impact on theirlives is significant!
